An Iranian teacher visits his cancer-stricken student every day to catch him up on lessons

The at once heartwarming and heartbreaking photo was already viewed more than a million times.
In the snapshot, a young boy with cancer is lying in bed in his hospital room. On the far side of the glass wall is his teacher, and the two are communicating through phones on the wall – presumably as a safety precaution for patients with contagious diseases.
The young teacher sits cross-legged on the floor, holding a tablet that is partially turned toward the glass. He looks to be reading a lesson to the boy.
Nothing is known about the boy and the teacher, though a snapshot of their relationship has touched so many.

The image has quickly earned attention, with people around the world praising the teacher for his dedication – and for helping the boy through a difficult time.
‘I think it sends a positive message: that he’ll get healed and keep on with his life. So catching up on his schooling is very important, ‘ wrote one.
‘Some dedication from the teacher. Going beyond what he needs to do for an excellent cause, ‘ wrote yet another. ‘Mad respect, what would that kid do if he arrived of hospital and missed lots of essential schoolwork? Honestly life changing. He might miss vital things which stop him obtaining a job. Props to the teacher. ‘
A third added: ‘This teacher deserves a medal. If more teachers were like this in the us I feel just like the drop out rate will be lower. He’s taking periods of his day merely to better somebody else’s life. I am hoping that all teachers would be this caring about students. Hats off to the guy. ‘
