If you’re walking around New Jersey, make sure to pay attention to your surroundings, because you just might find tiny wooden people hanging around, created by a street artist Joe Iurato.
“One of the elements that I love about doing these smaller pieces is the surprise factor. You might see it. You might not.” the artist said in an interview with Brooklyn Street Art. “If you do, though, it’s not something that grabbed you from across the street like a massive 40′ mural would. Chances are you caught it from the corner of your eye just a few feet away, and the connection made is intimate.”
Each of the pieces is a unique short story, often based on the artist’s real-life experiences. The wooden figure is often placed in a way to look as if it’s interacting with the surroundings and before leaving the installation behind Joe Iurato photographs the scene.
